Certificate IV in Frontline Management

Course Description

The Certificate IV in Frontline Management is the ideal qualification for the emerging line manager and leader, that offers opportunities for career growth and higher levels of study.

The course fits the requirements of individuals who take on first line management work in different organisations and industries but are still looking forward to the acquisition of skills and recognition in supervisory functions to add to their existing credentials and technical qualifications.

Entry Requirements

For Certificate IV in Frontline Management, vocational familiarity in a supervisory or managerial role is an advantage; however there are no prerequisite requirements for individual units of competency. You should currently be a first or second level manager i.e. line manager, office manager or supervisor, who is supervising the production of goods and services.

For example you could be a manager or supervisor of clerical staff, customer service staff, shop floor employees, trades people, drivers, machine operators etc.

Course Schedule

Frontline Management Certificate is offered in convenient weekday blocks, to allow learners to be away from the pressures of their jobs, and focus on the class work while attending frontline management training. You only have to attend 2 blocks of classes (5 days each) and have 6 months from the start date to complete all assignments.

Block One: 5 days Mon—Fri

  • Develop work priorities BSB EOR 404B
  • Implement operational plan BSB MGT 402A (core)
  • Show leadership in the workplace BSB MGT 401A (core)
  • Implement workplace information system BSB INM 401A
  • Make a presentation BSB CMM 401A

One—Two week break

Block Two: 5 days Mon—Fri

  • Promote team effectiveness BSB WOR 402A (core)
  • Develop teams and individuals BSB LED 401A
  • Promote innovation in a team environment BSB INN 301A
  • Monitor a safe workplace BSB OHS 407A (core)
  • Promote products and services BSB MKG 413A

Requirements for Qualification

Learners must undertake all frontline management certificate IV units and must be deemed competent in all assessment tasks to successfully complete the Certificate IV in frontline management course. Active participation on all frontline management training and learning activities is also required.

If you have a Statement of Attainment from another RTO for any of the Units, you won’t have to repeat them.
